i-SMAT Research Group

Innovation and Sustainability in Machine Technologies Research Group, which is also known as i-SMAT was established in 2013, and belong to the Centre for Advanced Research on Energy (CARe) of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Melaka, Malaysia. i-SMAT is mainly supported by staff from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Technology. All of our research and consultation expertise are built on the design principles of mechanical, technology and sustainability.

Our research strengths are mainly in the area of design & development for 3D printing/Additive Manufacturing, advanced material for 3D printing, machine design and optimisation, advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD), rapid prototyping and sustainability in environmental engineering, but we also explore other aspects of engineering design and manufacturing system integrations.
